Satisfying associations (Drape It Like It's Hot)

Draping is one of the most beautiful things you can do with a simple fabric. It's got this classical sophistication, it's ultra feminine and suggestive and it sculps the body beautifully, enhancing its shapes while keeping a level of mistery. All it takes is a mute coloured fabric and a sculptor's sensitivity to create this modern day Venus look.

My favourite draping work is by Rick Owens. To me it comes straight out of classical sculpture:

Ya know, if money grew on trees I wouldn't be seen out in the streets without these amazing Dior trainers on my feet. They are just about the coolest thing I've ever seen: they're ninja, ladylike, somewhat weird shaped and unlike any other trainers out there. They are couture and street cool, and these too things hardçy ever go hand in hand.

My other fetish at the mo' is Fendi's micro Peekaboo bag. Cute and lovely like all things tiny, they are also a great excuse to say no when your boyfriend tries to unload his phone/wallet/keys/smokes on you.

The colour in these Zilian shoes is so dreamy and inspiring. It imediately brought to mind the atmospheric lilacs and pastel tones in impressionist works. (Above: Monet - Charing Cross Bridge, 1899)

What I like most about anything visual is colour. More than shape, colour is what really draws me in. Today I've mixed mossy, muddy tones like dark green and greys with a bit of pink for contrast. Because today's palette is so serious and deep, I thought I'd sprinkle some sass into these earthy tones by adding the pink glitter shoes. I really like it!

Duffel coat is Bimba y Lola (their sales are the best), sweatshirt by The Kooples, linen shirt is Hugo Boss (it's huge because I borrowed from the boyfriend without him knowing - ps.: good luck seeing it again, love!), Mango jeans and Gucci horsebit loafers, also from sales.

Grey and gold

Today I have accidentally put together my new favourite colour combination: grey and gold. It's all Zara everything (let's call it Zarmani to chic it up a bit), except for the sweater, which is a rejected prototype I picked up at the factory. I love these ill-fiting, odd-coloured rejects; I just find them more captivating and unique than the final, super tweaked version our clients are happier with.
